Data and knowledge systems

Data counts among our most valuable assets. We are committed to the concept of Open Data and providing data driven tools for decision support and communicating our science.

All data collected by IMAS researchers are archived, curated, and made accessible to increase its utility for our stakeholders.

Managed by IMAS with support from partner organisations such as the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), the Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN) and the University’s Information Technology Services, our guiding framework is that all data that are not sensitive or restricted by legislation should be shared broadly for analysis and interpretation. IMAS also operate facilities and host data sets of national and global interest for the benefit of the community.

IMAS have developed a set of Data Management Guidelines (PDF 627.6 KB) to assist researchers with managing their data and adhering to the IMAS Data Management Policy (PDF 299.0 KB). For more information on how to discover, access, manage or publish research data at IMAS, please keep reading or IMAS.DataManager@utas.edu.au.
