The Centre for Rural Health provides financial assistance to domestic nursing and allied health students when they undertake full-time rural placements of two weeks or longer for UTAS students or 5 weeks or longer for interstate students. Allowances are only payable at the conclusion of placements. A link to the application will be emailed to you during your last week of placement.
Rural Placement Allowance - $80 per week of placement
Travel Subsidy (interstate allied health students only) - $400 per placement.
The Rural Placement Allowance and the Travel Subsidy are not available to domestic students receiving financial assistance for placements from their schools, university, or any other body such as SARRAH or the placement provider.
