Safeguarding Tasmania’s renowned seafood industry through research focused on protecting the health of consumers and aquatic organisms from disease is vital. Animal disease and food safety incidents can cause significant economic loss for fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
We are a part of the successful national food safety and market access research project SafeFish, with our research looking closely at protecting the health of seafood consumers and aquatic organisms, including issues of toxic marine algae, biosecurity of farmed seafood and disease.
